Prior to beginning our work together, we will utilize your insurance information to ensure availability, as I do not accept all plans under each insurance company.
If your plan is not included in the insurances I accept, do not lose hope! Many insurances provide out-of-network mental health coverage. While it may appear to be confusing, I am more than happy to discuss this option with you, as insurance companies tend to make their explanations needlessly complex to dissuade you from utilizing it.
I would encourage you to contact your insurance to be certain of what your out-of-network benefits for behavioral health would be. Most times, insurance companies will reimburse clients 60%-80% of their total session cost. Other times, a deductible must be met for insurance to begin reimbursement. It would be wise to call your company, and you may want to inquire about the following:
Does my plan provide me with out-of-network behavioral/mental health benefits?
What would my deductible be, if there is one?
Has my deductible been met for the year?
How much would the insurance company pay to an out-of-network provider?
If you do choose to participate in out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with a superbill, which is a monthly invoice that includes all the necessary information most insurance companies require for reimbursement.
My current out-of-pocket fee for individual and family sessions is $175.00 per session. My supervisory fee is $150.00 per meeting.
Presently, I am only meeting clients through a HIPAA-compliant platform.
At the moment, I provide 2 types of consultations: therapy consults and professional consultations. My therapy consultations are 15 minutes long, and typically over the phone. They are to ensure that I am an appropriate therapist for you. This is significant, as research shows that the therapeutic alliance (the connection between therapist and client) is the most signifiant variable contributing to a client's success in treatment.
My professional consultations are mainly for therapeutic settings and schools, in which I can provide consultation around early childhood development, attachment-theory, and therapeutic techniques for a pediatric population.
Our first session together will be from 45-60 minutes long and will be relatively relaxed in pace. I will ask questions to learn more about your past, particularly about your culture, upbringing, and any major influences you may have encountered that brought you to therapy. It will be a measured pace, as I try to be as person-centered as possible to ensure as best as I possibly can that you do not leave the first session feeling overwhelmed.
I generally follow a weekly attendance schedule, as I believe there is much to gain from therapy even when one does not feel like attending or feel they do not have anything to say. Sometimes, in these moments, we reveal more about ourselves than when we are in a state of heightened emotional duress. During the course of treatment, we can evaluate if you require more or less sessions as our dynamic progresses.
Yes, I do. I warrant 24 hours of notice prior to cancelling, otherwise I charge a $25.00 cancellation/no-show fee.
